Selecting a Chair for Better Daily Support
What to look for in seat height, back support, armrests, and adjustability.

Prioritize Adjustability
A useful task chair should adapt to the employee rather than forcing the employee into one fixed position.
Look for practical adjustment ranges instead of choosing solely by appearance or the number of features.
Set Seat Height
Set the chair so both feet are secure and the thighs are comfortably supported without pressure.
If the desk is too high after adjustment, review keyboard height or consider an appropriate foot support.
Check Seat Depth
Choose a seat depth that supports the thighs while leaving comfortable space behind the knees.
Seat width and edge shape also affect comfort during longer periods of focused work.
Support the Back
Back support should follow the lower spine and allow the torso to remain upright without effort.
A recline mechanism can support position changes when it remains stable and easy to control.
Position Armrests
Armrests should support the forearms without lifting the shoulders or blocking access to the desk.
Adjustable height and width are helpful when chairs are shared or desk dimensions vary.
